margin. Now, Republicans are again energized as voters will be asked whether they want to remove Davis from office, and to choose a successor should he be recalled.
Not that Democrats are giving up. A huge rally is being planned for Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante, who is urging a no vote on the recall of Davis and a yes vote for him as a replacement -- just in case Davis is recalled. Bustamante also opened a local campaign office this week.
But it's the Republican registration that's surging.
"We're making history," Salazar, the Fresno County clerk, said of the recall. "There's lots of media attention and a lot of focus on this election compared to past elections."
